(More customer reviews)If you can ignore the poor grammar throughout the text, you will find countless activities for older elementary through high school students. The explanations for the outcomes are too complex for younger students. It would be helpful to have some examples of complete, inquiry-based science lesson plans in addition to the activities. Assessment is an afterthought in this text--extremely inadequate for diverse learners. A real snoozer for this early childhood ed student!

This text contains over 300 science teaching activities, each followed by a list of the scientific activities (measurement, recording, etc) that can be taught as part of the activity. Most of the activities can be presented as discrepant events, thus increasing student motivation and interest. This edition includes 35 additional activities and a new frontpiece called "Safety in the Classroom".
